In Memory of Odds & Evens T.P

It’s with a broken heart that I have to tell you that T.P. our dearest equine friend passed away on Monday April 14th after a short but tragic battle of colic. I was able to see him and say goodbye – but obviously that just doesn’t heal him or my heart. After being part of my family for 21 years it is a close of a wonderful chapter in my life. I have written a befitting tribute to a wonderful horse and for those of you who know how much he was a part my life will understand...

Goodbye

With a heavy heart and tears in my eyes, after all these years, I must say Goodbye.

Please understand, I’ve done all I could, if there was anything you know I would.

I was sitting right there, gently rubbing your ears, while I talked to you softly, trying to hold back the tears.

The memories you have given me I will never forget, especially the ones of the day we met.

One last hug and one last kiss, you have no idea how much you’ll be missed.

I looked into your eyes that one last time.

You told me it was OK, You knew it was your time.

Close your eyes now and sleep.

It is now my dear friend you’ll find peace.

I couldn’t bear to stay still the end for it is your grace and presence that I must remember. It’s from you I was blessed, to have known such a special creature that truly, only comes around once in a lifetime and will remain in my heart forever.

Dream of that special day and time, when we’ll meet and spend eternity side by side.

After, your laid to rest your memory will live on in each of us. You’ll always be known as the best.

Have a safe journey through the night and when you awake, you’ll be in the light. Forever to run and jump like you do so well. I will meet you and ride again,

But until then,

with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes, just for now my dear friend,

I must say Goodbye.
